I returned it and they sent me a windows 8.1 laptop. I know the cable works because I had successfully cloned and installed the SSD on a brand new windows 8 laptop before I realized it had dead pixels. Other info: It's a brand new HP Envy laptop. Any thoughts? Help would be greatly appreciated. I downloaded EaseUS, but it won't recognize that I've got an SSD connected (I'm using a SATA/USB cable to connect it). ![]() I called Samsung and the guy said they don't support Windows 8.1, so he gave me the runaround. ![]() I've tried the Samsung Data Migration tool, but I keep getting an error about 20 seconds in, saying the clone had failed and given me the following code: 400230. I'm trying to clone my HDD onto a Samsung 840 EVO SSD.
